We Need Community
Many have come before us, many surround us, and many will come long after us.
The truth about community is that it is ever-changing, ever-growing yet has this beautiful mystery of it being everlasting.
Do you have a need, seek it in your community. Are you longing for connection, go to your community. When you are lost, feeling off, drained or simply longing then go to your community where you can find the fullness of what you need.
Christ has established an everlasting community, joining us into the family of God. Without Him, we feel an emptiness, but with God, we have everything we could need and even an overflowing abundance thereof.
So many times I find myself leaving my community for the purpose of travel, vacation and family matters. It is when I am away for a certain amount of time that I become more and more in need of something which I can’t place my finger on. It is when I return to my community, that I find exactly what I’ve been needing; the people of God, my brothers and sisters made family in Christ Jesus.
There are Christians all over the world, and how incredible it is to connect with a strange face who has a familiar faith.
The importance of our local church comes into play, however, when we grow day by day bearing burdens and serving faithfully alongside likeminded believers. The local church is an unbreakable family built on the Word of God. It is a calling to all believers in Jesus to do more than sit, listen, take away; it is a calling to live fruitfully, give with a cheerful heart, and love wholeheartedly. When you join a local church you have the ability to grow and to see others grow.
Do you have that community? If not, seek it!
Do you have that community? If so, pour into it!
Don’t be lukewarm but be joy-filled with the body of Christ and love it tenderly as if it were far closer than even your family by blood.
The family of Jesus is not connected by the blood that flows through our veins, but by the blood poured out by our Savior on the cross!!!
