The Things of God
The things of God are...
- good,
- holy,
- upright,
- pure,
- ought to be sought after,
- and will only lead you to joy and thanksgiving!
Many think that this Christian life will lead to ease, receiving whatever we could ever dream of, a life where we are on top in our own lives and nobody can any longer judge us!
Oh how false and delusional these thoughts are.
To think that Christ, the living loving Son of God, died on the cross for some to believe that they now can become their own God is of the utmost disobedience and disrespect of all that Christ accomplished.
Because Christ lived on Earth, He taught us how we ought to live.
Because Christ loved all, He taught us how we to unconditionally love all, family and enemies.
Because Christ died on the cross, He taught us how we ought to die to ourselves, giving our lives to Him, that we might destroy any bit of selfishness and pride from our lives which are not ours but belong to the King who shaped us!
Because Christ rose from the grave, we are no longer dead for eternal life has been given to us in the blessed name of our LORD!!! Hallelujah!!!!
The things of the Lord are nothing short of beautiful!
The things of the Lord are not physical things indeed. They are not a list of valuables which you are promised to receive as a part of acting like a Christian.
No.
The things of the Lord are truly His Spirit, His love, His character, His power, His promise to all those who place their faith and surrender their lives to the One Who did it first!
Dear Christian,
protect your mind and your heart from the all too common greed which roams the flesh saying, “you deserve it all… you are the greatest… take whatever you desire.” Rebuke those thoughts for the things of the Lord are far greater than what you could earn yourself or be promised by the ruler of this world. Many say that you deserve great things, well the truth is that the only thing we deserve is Hell. The only thing we have earned ourselves is eternal punishment. The only thing we are great at is committing horrendous sin against the all-holy LORD of creation. Return to the Lord, seek Him in all that He is according to His Word.
Die to yourself.
Die to whatever it is that your heart is telling you to be… and live in Jesus.
You may find yourself in discontentment, inability to move forward, dismay, despair.
Look for the things of the Lord. Look in the Bible where it all is clearly stated and witnessed.
God has what you need, ask it of Him and it will be received.
