The Good Shepherd
How ever so near is a shepherd to His sheep?
Time and devotion are given entirely from a shepherd to his precious flock.
There is food and water needing to be given, precious care to heal and to grow, there is true leadership needed for every flock.
Shepherding is a role not to be taken lightly, for it takes a certain character to be so tender and so strong, so loving and so firm, so individually focused and group-minded. Though 10,000 sheep may be in his possession, a shepherd sees the single sheep yet guides the flock.
A true shepherd tenderly loves each sheep and firmly guides it for protection. A shepherd carefully cleans and shears each and every sheep for the purpose of health and a fuller life. A shepherd comes to the level of each sheep to feed and to give drink.
Time and devotion are required of a shepherd.
How ever so near is a shepherd to his sheep?
Oh, dear Christian, how ever so near is God to us?
Oh how He loves us.
We are His sheep and He our good Shepherd.
It is no secret my dear fellow pilgrim, the care which God has for us. So tenderly does He love us, how fully does He feed us and give us drink, His precious care abounds in every corner of our lives.
As a flock we walk this life, yet as that individual sheep in need of a shearing He comes and cleans us up.
There is no greater shepherd than God, the good Shepherd.
If you feel lost or astray, if you have been a wild sheep never with a home, if you are in need of the Shepherds leading, run to Him.
Run back to the Father with no past in sight and only His precious love ahead.
Truly, God is good.
He will leave the 99 for you! He will bring you back to the flock to be healed and taken care of.
Our good Shepherd, how ever so always near is He to the brokenhearted, the weary, the confused, the hurt, the humble simply in need of their Lord.
He is here for me, He is here for you, He will never leave you nor forsake you.
The Lord our God is as a tall mountain not so easily shaken.
The Lord our God is as the rising sun always faithful.
The Lord our God is as a shepherd, the good Shepherd, doing everything for the love of His flock.
You are loved.
