Anxious Thoughts
The thoughts of our mind often hold us captive.
I’ve heard it said, and it reigns so true, that the battle ground of our minds is where the enemy often finds his victories.
- From the standards of society the devil can knit together unreachable ideals.
- From the trials you have faced he can conjure up the self-destructive, “should have’s,” and “why’s.”
- From all the experiences of your life the devil will try to create a tapestry of lies and call his artwork, “anxiety.”
Why is this one of his greatest attacks? Why does the enemy get into our thoughts and feelings? He does this because, when the devil gets a hold of your mind and causes you to believe that there is no way out of the difficulty, when the devil tries to make you believe that you can’t find happiness, peace, assurance, truth, then he will have brought you to a state of unrest. It is in this state of unrest that there is no hope in sight. When there’s no hope then all truly is lost and the day to day of living seems pointless.
But what is the truth of these hopeless, wandering, unsettled thoughts?
The truth is that none of it is tangible and none of it is lasting!
Is the devil, the one cast out from Heaven, cursed to roam the Earth on his belly, greater than the One Who created an eternal prison of everlasting fire for him? Truly, I tell you, that the living LORD, God above, Christ Jesus our Savior and almighty King is FAR greater than any wiles of the devil.
No, it is not cliche, it is not just a coping mechanism, it is truth to know that God is above the devil and God is above your thoughts.
God is the Cornerstone of life itself, the firm Foundation, solid Rock. What are all these things but immovable structures!
The devil attacks your thoughts with anxiety because he cannot get what is far more valuable… your soul.
Your soul is what the Lord has come to save. Your soul is in the hand of God because of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Christ came to die so that you can live, and now you live in Him!!!
Yes, your thoughts will be filled with anxiety at one point or another, but remember that God has already won.
The victory is His.
Return to the place of truth, return to His voice, read the Bible, pray to God, talk to believers, and the God Who loves you will set you free!!!!
